The Native Peat Empty The Native Peat

Post by Feros Ferio Wed Jul 10, 2013 11:34 pm

((I'm experimenting with the reduction of sub-forums for the new site. I'm going to start a thread here, and if you want to branch out later, feel free to start a thread either in the Camp area or in the Dealan-De territory. Contact me with questions!))

The Guild had travelled quite a distance this time It had been weeks since the wolves had left their last camp, the adventure still fresh on their mind. The road had been another one wrought with perils as well as the typical merriments of the Mongrels of Blacktalon. Their path was a mystery to them, their destination uncertain. What was known, however, was that they would move until they'd come to a place to take respite, or found wolves that needed their help again.

The day prior had been much like the ones before. Agro again seemed chipper, and often broke into fragmented song, as though trying to recall all the words. Sometimes the Meister walked at the helm of the band, ribbing and joking, or prodding at some of the sterner personalities. At other times he took up the rear, nipping at the heels of the pups, or offering his own brand of encouragement to the stragglers. However, on that day Agro suddenly stopped, and with a booming, gravelly tone announced that "This was it."

The Guild set up camp immediately.

None of the wolves knew where they were, including Agro. However, Agro had declared it to be a 'awful nice place t' rest a spell' and that was that. He seemed right about that, however. They'd found a copse of dwarfed trees to camp in, which was surrounded by rolling hills. Deer moved in small herds from time to time around them, unaware of their arrival, and in the air there seemed to be a strange sort of magic.

It is now the afternoon following their first night in the new camp, and the Guild, having taken a rest, seem ready for whatever adventures await them in this new locale.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Damian Sat Jul 13, 2013 1:18 pm

The pack had grown in size since the last time they had travelled, but that wasn't the only thing that had grown. The pups were now four months old and they were no longer considered little. They had grown in size which now made it hard for any wolf to carry them; Damian was extremely grateful for. However, he knew that the task could still be down, but only by a wolf strong enough to hold their weight. He knew that Agro was strong enough, but he hoped that the old bones were not.

However, with maturity and growth came other pains. Teething. The pups were now beginning to teeth and it was becoming increasingly painful and annoying to the terrible two. Their gums were constantly aching, leaving them whimpering, and then came the stabbing pain of a tooth falling out. It was only quick stab and then the pain died after a few seconds, leaving a numb feeling behind, but growled upon each time it happened. However, only Dakota knew such a feeling. Damian's baby teeth were still lodged inside of his mouth, and while only a small number had fallen from the female's mouth, she still complained and whined about it. Though, the aching feeling and pain still lingered on the both of them which resulted in even more biting from the pair, causing them to be in even bigger trouble.

When it first started to happen, the pups panicked. They had no clue what was happening as the pain increased so much that the pups would spend hours just following the pack without a single word. However, words were flying everywhere when Dakota's first tooth fell free. They screamed and argued with the pack, cursing them for her 'ill fate'. Damian thought he was going to lose his sister, and that was a pain that he did not want to face. However, they both calmed when the pack fully explained what was happening to them, both extremely happy that they weren't going to die and that their adult teeth were finally coming.

Being four months old also came with a new wonder of the world, and also independence. The pups were also independent and rarely called upon the pack for anything or listened to them, so being a little older just gave them that extra push.  They were pushing boundaries, showing off their dominance and just becoming more naughty with age. They constantly teased the others and snapped at them, showing them that they were the boss and not them. With the right corrections the pup's habits may die; 'may' being the word here. They were ruthless and cold by nature, the added  independence was an added bonus.

However, they often took their frustrations out on objects that they could sink their teeth into and sooth the pain. Damian had found a stick and for the last for minutes had been chewing on it silently. It was the only time that they were quiet as talking caused more pain than chewing.  However, the distraction of his sister made chewing in peace harder. He watched her out of the corner of his eyes as he continued to lay into the stick in front of him. Within seconds of Dakota being close to her brother, the growling started.  He took hold of his stick and let out a tempered growl, warning her to back off and leave his stick. He knew that his sister also wanted something to chew on,but he had found the best stick and now she wanted it. That was not going to happen.

“Back off.” He snarled as he gave her an icy glare. However, he knew that she was going to try and steal it from him. She never listened. So with that the pup launched himself at his sister and pushed her away from him. The two often ended up like this, but it was their usual relationship. They would never purposely hurt each other and actually want it to really hurt the other. A little pain just helped their relationship and stablish who was boss.

He narrowed his eyes at his sister and decided that today was another day that she had to be reminded who was the boss. So the pup run back from his sister, running over to where Agro was stationed and scrabbled onto the old fart, wishing to use him as a diving board.  He settled on Agro's back before he leapt into the air and onto his sister, biting onto her neck and tugging onto the skin. However, his little plan didn't exactly work out well.

SNAP!

A high pitched yelp bellowed through the air as blood trickled from the pup's mouth, followed by a tiny white object falling out. Damian's first fallen baby tooth. He whined and whimpered as he lay on the floor with his paws over the muzzle trying to suppress the pain. He pushed his muzzle into the soft, cold earth, using it's natural temperature to help sooth the pain. “Stupid teeth.” He whined, but it was muffled by his paws on his snout.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Dakota Sat Jul 13, 2013 9:31 pm

Agro had seriously been yanking Dakota's chain when he wanted them to travel across the world and back to find a perfect place to set up camp. She grew irritable as he constantly nipped at her paws because she would lag behind with her brother, though it wasn't their fault. They were pups with smaller legs that were growing. They couldn't walk as fast as the others, despite how hard they tried to keep up with the pace of the others.

Dakota had remembered she had exhausted herself by trying to keep up with Aderyn on one occasion and she decided she wouldn't try that again. No matter how much she wanted to prove Addy was slower than her, Dakota was still a pup that got exhausted quicker than the other wolves I the guild.

Though that wasn't the worst of their problems. Dakota had soon began teething throughout the middle of their journey. She chewed on twigs that she'd find, but none of them ever satisfied the urge her teeth were giving her. She wanted something to chew on, but she could find nothing that suited her wants. So to her discontent, she had to continue walking with the guild with aching teeth.

As they were walking one day, Dakota's mouth was in particular pain and so she was extra irritable with Agro nibbling on their flanks to get them to keep moving. She grumbled and growled, but did very little pouting because of the pain. Every now and again she would let out little whines and paw at her mouth to try and do anything. Though she just had to let it run it's course, which is exactly what she did. Soon after her whines of pain, a snap suddenly sounded loudly from herself which caused her to whine loudly and whimper for a moment. She had opened her mouth and then a series of swear words that shall not be repeated left her gob as the tooth dropped out along with drops of blood.

Looking back on it know, it made Dakota chuckles slightly at Damian's reaction. He thought she was going to die! Which in turn freaked her out and she thought that she was going to die after him panicking.

The memory make Dakota shake her head as she was brought back to reality. Still teething even since they arrived, Dakota watched Damian nibble and chew on a rather delicious looking stick. Her tail swayed back and forth as she didn't take her eyes off it and inched towards it more and more. She could hear the growls coming from him, but that only fuelled her smirk as she shook her tail and was ready to pounce on him. The growth spurt that she was going through had only fuelled her ego and confidence more, and so she felt like she could take on the world

Though Damian quite quickly stubbed that idea out as he tackled her away from the stick and fought with her. She growled and bit him as they rolled around in their version of playing. Or that's what she planned on doing before her ears twitched at the snap of a tooth. Though this time it wasn't her own, it was her counterpart, Damian's. A smirk planted across her face as she snickered at him whining and burying his head in the dirt, “Nice timing, Dami.” She chuckled right before she took the stick and bounced past him and laid on the ground as she began nibbling on it.

“Thanks for the stick.” She snickered at his pained form, “At least you're not dying.”

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

The Native Peat 2chri12 The Native Peat 2i903dd

Mikazaru couldn’t remember how long it had been since he had first seen a glimpse of the great Guild. He had been part of the traveling pack long enough to see new wolves come and other wolves go. The wolves Chanette, Vidocq and Varien had been the ones to come, while for Destani and Emmett… Mikazaru hadn’t seen that them around anymore.

He missed Destani greatly, he couldn’t even the describe how he felt now that she wasn’t around anymore.
Even though he hadn’t quite met the Emmett yet, he sort of began to miss him ever since his disappearance. Mikazaru hadn’t seen him anymore ever since the lynx had been there to stop them from going further into the swamp. Had Emmett stayed behind with the lynx…? No, it couldn’t be.
Still, this thought had come to Mikazaru many times.

The guild finally had stopped to take a rest, after what seemed like ages of walking. Mikazaru sat down and looked at the two ups, Dakota and Damian. Just now he realized how much they had grown, they  didn’t look like those small pups anymore you could pick up and tell they were wrong.
No, you wouldn’t even be able to pick them up anymore. Only a strong wolf could, like Agro. Mikazaru himself knew he wasn’t one of those strong wolves. He could no longer pick these two up to prevent them from escaping and bringing themselves in danger.
They even seemed to grow new teeth now, as Damian seemed to be in a constant pain when picking up things with his teeth, holding it between his jaws.

This time it was about a branch he had found, which Dakota tried to take from him. Mikazaru decided to enjoy the rest he could have now, and listened to their conversations as he sat there, his fluffy tail curled around his paws.
‘’Back off.’’, he heard Damian yell at his sister before he let out a high pitched yelp. Mikazaru thought he could smell the faint scent of blood. Again Damian had lost a teeth. ‘’Stupid teeth.’’, came a whimper from the pup.
For the first time since Mikazaru had met the two, Damian looked rather cute now that he was teething. But of course Mikazaru knew these two weren’t cute at all, so he just kept his mouth shut as he watched, enjoying the time he had for himself.

‘’Nice timing, Dami. Thanks for the stick. At least you're not dying.’’, Dakota snickered at she looked at her in pain brother. Mikazaru let out a short chuckle, closing his eyes in amusement.
Then he stared around the area they had entered to settle down for a while. His eyes fell on all the Guild’s members. But they stayed on one particular member of the Guild, who at first had said he didn’t want to join, but after that he did. Varien.

Mikazaru wasn’t sure whether he should go to him and speak to the Interior Alaska wolf or not. He hadn’t quite spoken to him in a while, and they had grown pretty much distant from each other. The male felt nervous to speak to the black wolf with the purple eyes again after this long while.
‘’I know he likes me, but I cannot just walk over to him like nothing has ever happened between us. He has a good reason for being out there on his own.’’, Mikazaru thought as he stared at the male. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at him.
These problems between the two had appeared after both having different opinions, and was a too long story to explain.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Jane Sun Jul 14, 2013 1:18 pm

It had been a long, long time since Jane had a flashback. So long, in fact, that she didn't even remember it herself. She didn't remember anything...
But now here she was, standing between two large trees with a look of complete horror on her face. In reality, she was here, but in her mind, Jane was haunted by the look of absolute disgust she was cursed to never forget. It flashed about in her deepest thoughts for a few moments before the young girl snapped back into the real world. Jane had to admit to herself, that if she was going to remember something, it was a complete disappointment if that one memory had to be of her waking up to a stranger, her mouth sealed forever.
But now she was here, and she needed to focus. Concentrate and focus.
Because she had gotten too close.

For days, weeks months, Jane had been following a band of wolves. Traveling just far enough from their path to not be noticed. She would sleep when they slept and ate after they ate. She never actually saw these wolves, possibly a few peeks at a tail tip or two, but rather she had to rely on her hearing. She listened to the mumbling she presumed was speaking, and listened for when they moved. This wasn't the first time she had done this, however. In fact, this was how Jane lived. If she didn't follow random packs, picking off their scraps and using them for directional purposes, the young three-month-old would never survive. She had to tag along and not make a peep, which wasn't a problem.

But today, she slipped up. When e thought that they were further away, Jane decided to attack a sleeping bird laying on the forest floor a bit closer to the pack. No harm in hunting a bit for myself, she thought silently. When she was alone, Jane thought of herself as superwoman. She could kill any frog and attack any enemy. When she was with others, it was a different story...

That's what caused her this trouble. The pack was much closer than she thought, and they all seemed to be going about their own business. She even got a full peek at a large adult who was a black color, much as herself.
But this only stunned her for a moment. Now she had to kill the bird without them seeing or hearing. If they caught her... A chill ran down Jane's spine. What would they do to a freak like me?
And still she crept forward, inching closer and closer to the bird until she was only a meter away. One small detail had fooled her, however. The bird was wide awake.

It turned it's l head in Jane' direction, as soon as it saw she was advancing, it cawed as loudly as it could and headed in the direction of the pack Jane was stalking. Stupid pest! She screamed in her mind, frozen. If the bird didn't direct the pack towards her location, then she had to stay silent so they didn't hear her. Body crouched low to the ground, all Jane could do was wait and hope.

If they spotted her now, what could she do? Run? Beg? She certainly couldn't explain herself. And the ever haunting though prowled her thoughts. Will they kill me?

Jane had no memory of any other wolves besides the one who had found her in the ashes back home. She forgot how pack life worked and w to act. Her whole memory wiped clean. And now here she was, cowering in the bushes right next to one, praying that the stupid bird didn't give away her position. If it didn't, she would go back about her business. And though she wouldn't admit it now, she would probably come back foolishly t sneak another glance at the group.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Vidocq Tue Jul 16, 2013 11:35 pm

The vagrant life of the Guild was familiar to Vidocq. For the vast majority of his life, he had traveled without a clear destination or end in sight. Each mile was filled with new sights and curiosities, things to investigate and analyze. Lanky as he was, he found it quite easy to keep pace with the group’s unyielding driver, Agro, was perhaps the most intriguing member of this motley crew. Despite his nonsensical nature and perpetual jesting, he was held in high regard by all around him. The sleuth could clearly see the great respect given to the stout brute, and so he did the same- even when his jests were directed at the lofty wolf who had only known him for a few weeks. He endured them all with a strained smile until the joker left his side to ‘encourage’ the pups. Judging by their grumbling and general ire, the urging was not appreciated in the slightest. Their tempers were especially high now that they were teething, which was why Vidocq made it a point to avoid them. He had little patience for children in general. As a matter of principle, the spy kept his distance from things that made constant noise and could not listen to reason. He also wanted to avoid another confrontation with Damian, as he was called, for he did not trust his own temper around the loudmouthed imp. Thankfully, the whelp had done the same.

As they journeyed, Vidocq busied himself with scouting ahead of the caravan. Sleuthing was merely a habit. He was in perpetual motion; if one attempted to keep track of his progress, they would need to have their head on a swivel. The spy was visible only when he so desired. Sometimes, he could be seen behind the Guild, making sure they were not followed. Others, he would be a few paces ahead. Oftentimes, however, he would be right in the middle the group, simply observing them and listening to their conversations. In a matter of hours, he had learned each of their names and faces, along with a few random details shared in small talk. Though he knew little about his newfound allies, the fact that they knew even less about him brought a smirk to his features. This, among other things, made him quite content. The swamp muck from Curlew Bottom had long since been washed from his fur, returning it to its usual charcoal black flecked with silver. He was not vain, of course, yet it did not sit well with him to look like a drowned rat when he was meant to be official and proper. He had also managed to scavenge a good meal along the way and put an end to the painful gnawing sensation in his stomach.

Finally, Agro decided to set up camp in a little copse of trees. It was a relatively secluded spot, bordered by rolling hills and with a great deal of shade. There were signs of prey nearby as well. Immediately upon arrival, Vidocq left the group to survey the area. He would rest later; at present, he felt he needed to be useful. His diligence was rewarded. As he was patrolling, a sharp screech of alarm sounded to his left, accompanied by a small bird fleeing into the trees. Something had spooked it, he presumed, and decided to go in the direction from which it came. The spy took great caution with his approach. Though he had not been directly involved in the encounter with the lynx, he had watched the episode from a safe distance. He knew well the dangers that could befall a careless wolf. The sleuth soon found the spot where the bird had been resting; bits of plumage littered the forest floor only a dozen paces or so from Mikazaru. The male seemed to be deep in thought, and so Vidocq chose to leave him be.

As he lowered his head to view the feathers up close, his nose caught the scent of another creature. It was lupine, he surmised, and belonged to someone very young and very frightened. His own apprehension dissipated at this discovery, and so he continued to analyze the small brown feathers. It looked as if he had not noticed anything unusual at all. “Sparrows are finicky things. Certainly not the easiest prey for an inexperienced hunter.” he remarked, as if he were conversing with an old friend. He then turned his steely gaze to the source of the unfamiliar smell. Through the foliage and scrub, he could make out the slight outline of a dark-colored pup. Vidocq made sure to keep his tone level and calm in an effort to avoid alarming the little one further. “You are, however, quite the sly one to have evaded Vidocq for so long. I’d known something was following us, but could not pinpoint what- or rather, who,” he corrected with a slight smirk. “And who, great sneak, are you?”

Mikazaru’s hate towards Varien got interrupted by the voice of Vidocq, who seemed to be talking to someone, or something. The black wolf wasn’t sure what the cool-looking male was doing quite near him, taking to some bushes.
‘’Sparrows are finicky things. Certainly not the easiest prey for an inexperienced hunter. You are, however, quite the sly one to have evaded Vidocq for so long. I’d known something was following us, but could not pinpoint what- or rather, who. And who, great sneak, are you?’’

‘’Vidocq, what’s going on? Who are you talking to?’’, the male asked the other wolf, who was staring at something not too far away from Mikazaru. This way the black adult began to feel pretty uncomfortable. What if it was a predator of some sort?
He had already completely forgotten about Varien as he turned to look at Vidocq.

Mikazaru followed the male’s eyes towards the bushes, where he saw a small black pup. Well, for what the most looked like a little black pup. The little one seemed even younger than Dakota and Damian and… really cute. The look in her eyes was much nicer than those looks that appeared in the eyes of Damian and Dakota.
The black adult had forgotten that pups were mostly meant to be cute. He wondered where this little creature had come from. And why she was here all on her own?
Where was her family, where were her friends? Her pack? was she really all alone? ‘’Hey little one, why are you all alone? Where’s your family?’’, Mikazaru asked as he came to stand next to Vidocq, watching the little creature, the black ball of fur, from a short distance.

Just then he realized the screaming birds above him; sparrows. He hadn’t seen them yet, until now. It seemed like they had been startled by something. Mikazaru could recall the words of Vidocq in his mind, he had said something about sparrows.
Was it this little pup that had tried to catch those fast birds? She should probably be a great hunter, because the adult tried to figure out how this pup could even survive here in the wilderness, all on her own. That seemed like a hard task for such a cute and small creature with indeed as Vidocq said, almost no hunting experience at all.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Jane Wed Jul 17, 2013 11:30 am

>>---------JANE---------<<
She had been so close.
Like every other time Jane had caught herself up in a predicament like this, she was mere steps away from running away from the wolves whom she had stalked. For a few moments, it seemed as if the noisy bird did not disturb the pack. If Jane could just wait a few more moments...
Oh, how stupid could I be? she scoffed at herself mentally. If only she wasn't so daring when alone, then perhaps her life span could be longer. Jane knew very well that without companions, her ability to survive would fade as she got more and ore scrawny. Perhaps it was this fact that had driven her to try and make prey of the bird?
But what would she do once the bird was in her paws? Snapping it's neck or tearing it up would require her mouth to be fully functional, which it was not. The only tasks that Jane could manage with her burn scars were panting, with her tongue lazing out the side of her mouth like a cheeky grin, and mumbling her name in a nasty, and rather embarrassing fashion that involved a strange raw voice and  whole lot of spit. Her only other options were strangling it or using her claws, which was hardly sufficient for a young puppy.

“Sparrows are finicky things. Certainly not the easiest prey for an inexperienced hunter.”

The sound was not harsh, but it still made Jane jump. While she was lost in thought, it must have escaped her that someone could easily find her in this place. She was barely even in the bush that she had chosen for cowering.
She slowly turned her cranium towards the voice. There was the slightest glimpse of hope rising in Jane's chest that the owner of this voice had not noticed her yet. But alas, he was looking straight at her. The dark male seemed eleven feet tall to Jane, and her first instinct was to flop on her belly and cover her face in submission; but she held fast and stared at his face. It was amazing, seeing another wolf so close up for the first time in weeks. She looked him over once more, then turned her gaze to the floor as his voice continued in a casual tone.

“You are, however, quite the sly one to have evaded Vidocq for so long. I’d known something was following us, but could not pinpoint what- or rather, who. And who, great sneak, are you?”

Shame washed over the young pup. Not only had she fooled herself into thinking that she could go along unnoticed, but how was she now going to tell this stranger her name? There was no way that Jane was going to mumble sloppily the word "Jane" to this male she didn't know. The embarrassment would be too much. The young female instead opted for just looking up at the male. In a moment of courage, Jane thought about running. Sprinting right out of here to fins another pack to stalk. But she knew that she could never outrun an adult. Not in her wildest dreams.
Turning her face, Jane revealed the ugly scars to this one who addressed himself as Vidocq. There was nothing else to do but show him that she couldn't speak like he could. For whatever reason Jane trusted this wolf wouldn't hurt her for the burns on her face, even though thy truly did look horrid (and she knew it), but she still closed her eyes and prepared herself for the worst.
But of course it couldn't be that easy. Jane's eyes popped back open at the sound of yet another lupine.

‘’Vidocq, what’s going on? Who are you talking to?’’

She watched in silence as the new male walked into view. He was a dark hue, much like Vidocq and herself, and he didn't seem aggressive either. Jane watched back as the stranger watched her. She almost instantly recognized him as the male she spotted during her daring little hunt.

‘’Hey little one, why are you all alone? Where’s your family?’’

More questions for Jane to not answer. If the pup could have groaned, she would. Oh, how she longed for a way to communicate. All she had was the looks she could portray on her face, which was hardly a successful method. But for now, she prayed that the two would understand as she tilted the scars into view of the newer male as well. Would they understand?

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Marina Wed Jul 17, 2013 5:40 pm

(sorry it's all confus-ey with them both talking at once. I'll do it better in the future. But for now:
 Marina's POV
  Marina's speech
 Caroline's POV
 Caroline's speech

Marina  glanced lazily around their new camp. It was much cleaner than their last home, with the tempting scent of deer instead of the bog stench. It was such a relief to be away from that dreadful place, with the smells and the bugs and the swamp gas that played tricks on her eyes at night. Here there were no frogs, only trees.  The hybrid lass rested her chin on her paws, content, and watched the pack.

Chanette, Vidocq, and Varien - the new members were the ones Marina eyed the most. Were they confused by all the random traveling? She had yet to form much of an opinion on the first two, although she thought Chanette could make a good friend for Addy and herself. Vidocq unnerved her. He was so casual about joining the pack, scouting ahead as they all walked, with a mysterious smirk appearing on his face at times. Although she had forgiven him for scaring her, she couldn't help but draw closer to Chance or Aderyn whenever he was near.

Her gaze flickered to Chance for just a moment before returning to space. They had spent a considerable amount of time together in the last few weeks, and she was beginning to love the shy fellow - as a friend of course! Occasionally, she would allow herself to fantasize about becoming something more; then she would snap herself back to reality. She was haunted, Seamus was still around, and there would be no more relationships for her.

Seamus, meanwhile, had been fading in her mind. He had stopped appearing in the shadows, stopped whispering in her ear, stop putting his own face onto the face of other wolves or his voice into someone else's mouth. A few times, Marina had looked into water and wondered what would happen if she just fell in. Would she drown? Would it be frightening? Would she care? Or would she be able to join Seamus, as he was before the accident. She would lean toward the water, curious and considering an attempt at drowning, just to feel what he felt. Then her friends would call for her attention, and she would turn away, disturbed at her morbid little reverie. She was sure Seamus was getting into her head, trying to trick her into suicide. An incident had happened just this morning, in which Marina had her nose in the water before she realized what she was doing.

Blinking her concern away, Marina curled up into a little ball and tried to sleep.

The golden female smelled wolves, and a whole lot of them. She narrowed her eyes, a bit displeased. There were one or two wolves wandering the area, but this smelled like a pack. She considered leaving, until she caught wind of one scent in particular. The fur went up along her spine; It couldn't be!

Squaring her shoulders, Caroline began loping in the direction of the pack, her sharp eyes glinting teal in the afternoon sun. If they'll accept her, they definitely won't run me off, she thought to herself. Besides, I've been living here for quite awhile already, and I have every right to this land.

As she approached, she didn't see a large group of wolves, but three: two black males and a black pup. The males were looking at the child as if they weren't quite sure what to do with them, although the older male retained an air of coolness. Caroline arched an eyebrow at them both as she approached - especially the handsomely grizzled older male - but merely brushed past them with a disinterested "Excuse me."

Then she happened to catch sight of the child's face. A horrific scar ran down the left side of her face, gnarled and bare skin marring what could have otherwise been a pretty face.

"Oh, you poor thing!"  She gasped, in disgust rather than sympathy. She turned away, not wanting to look at such a deformation. The child was indeed poor, with a face like that. Caroline would rather die than suffer so.

Moving on, she stepped past the copse of trees, into full view of the pack. There were more wolves, a couple of pups, one of which was missing a leg - Caroline began to wonder at this point what kind of caretakers these wolves were - were fighting over a stick. The familiar scent was stronger now: Caroline strained her eyes in an attempt to find her target.

There she is! Caroline could not resist a joyful cry when she saw her sister, her dear little freckled sister curled up in the shade. "FRECKLES!"

Marina's head shot up when she heard her pet name for the first time in years. Freckles. The guild called her Mari, Seamus had called her 'Dot' or just 'Babe', so that could only leave...

"CAROLINE!" Her voice came out as a shriek; she was on her paws and running before she even knew what happened. She was across the camp in a half-second, bowling her sister over with little squeaks of "Oh my gosh it's you it's you it's YOU HOW DID YOU FIND ME AUUGGHHH!"

The sisters spent a good minute shrieking incoherent hello's, until they both were sobbing too hard to say anything.

"I missed you SO MUCH." Marina sniffled, once she stopped crying hard enough to get a look at her willowy, sunlight-colored big sister. "You're so beautiful."

Oh Marina, dear, sweet Marina! Caroline was overcome with a fondness she had not felt in a long time. She took her sister in, the round, smiling face, the red-rimmed eyes, the freckles.

"And you don't look a day older, honey!" Caroline wondered if that was true; Freckles had a haunted look about her now.

"We have so much to catch up on!" She smiled.

"Oh my gosh, yes!" Without bothering to introduce Caroline, Marina scampered off, with Caroline trailing behind.

                                    *                  *                   *

They walked for the better part of an hour, jabbering excitedly like they had never been apart. Marina did most of the talking, about her husband, and his demise. She paused a bit before mentioning feeling like he was following her. Although it was a brief comment, Caroline noticed the fear on her sister's face.

"You still believe in ghosts?" Caroline rolled her eyes with a small, warbling laugh. "Oh honey, you have got to grow up!"

Marina bit her lip, instantly regretting her decision to confide in her sister. Caroline hadn't believed in the supernatural when they were girls, why would she understand now. Embarrassed, she changed the subject and listened to Caroline's life story. She decided not to bring up Chance at all.

"I'm so happy you're here," she said as they neared the camp. "You'll stay the night, right?"

"Of course!" Caroline gazed around the guild eagerly. "Now introduce me to your friends!"

"Alright - I can't wait for you to meet everyone!" Marina traipsed up to Aderyn, gorgeous sibling in tow. "Addy, guess who I found! This is my dearest sister Caroline. Caroline, this is Aderyn."

Caroline appraised Aderyn, as she did with every new wolf she met. The lass was younger, a bit scrawny and too tall. She had green eyes; Caroline thought green eyes were remarkably unattractive. She stepped back, smirking with her head tilted in the same haughty way Marina often used. Her sister had mentioned Addy several times on their walk, and from what Caroline had gathered, they seemed very close. Almost like sisters. Caroline wasn't going to be replaced. She made a mental note to watch out for this girl.

"Well aren't you cute?" she said with a cold smile. "It's lovely to meet you. Marina's told me all about you. I bet we'll be good friends, too."

The Native Peat 2chri12 The Native Peat 2i903dd

The black pup tilted her face to the side, showing a few big scars on her cheek and around her muzzle. She didn’t respond to their questions, only made this move every time Mikazaru and Vidocq spoke to her. just when Mikazaru wanted to react to the way of moving this pup made, another wolf just walked past them.
‘’Excuse me.’’, was everything the stranger said as she passed by. The female replied to the pup with a ‘’Oh, you poor thing!’’ before going on straight to Marina. Mikazaru could only frown, before turning back to the pup. The little ball of fur hadn’t spoken to them yet, and he wondered if she even could speak. So he decided to ask a question, which was pretty… original.
‘’Can’t you speak?’’

While he waited for the black pup to respond he perked his ears. trying to listen to any conversations that happened behind the two males. it was a conversation between Marina and the new female, who had just walked past Vidocq and Mikazaru.
This conversation was pretty strange to him, but he assumed they knew each other, and that the way they talked was girl’s talk. He was a boy, he would never understand anyway, but he would try.
‘’FRECKLES!’’
‘’CAROLINE! Oh my gosh it's you it's you it's YOU HOW DID YOU FIND ME AUUGGHHH!’’

Mikazaru couldn’t help but chuckle at this conversation. The way the two spoke, especially Marina, sounded so awkward and strange. Mikazaru’s first guess as he listened to them speaking, was that the two were probably family, maybe sisters. Because they kind of looked alike, a little bit.
‘’I missed you SO MUCH. You're so beautiful.’’
‘’ And you don't look a day older, honey! We have so much to catch up on!’’

The whole conversation and the new faces had made Mikazaru not look back at Varien anymore. The male came back to his mind, but he didn’t bother looking behind him to see if he was there. He didn’t look because he was scared of the wolf. Not because he knew he was maybe going to hurt Mikazaru, but because he didn’t know what reaction to get from him.
Their whole relationship had sort of… fallen down a cliff, and Mikazaru hated to be anywhere around him, after their last fight.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Vidocq Wed Jul 17, 2013 6:25 pm

“Vidocq, what’s going on? Who are you talking to?”

The spy did not turn his head when the other male approached, for he knew that, like any other creature, he was naturally curious. He also knew that Mikazaru was a reasonably astute fellow, and would soon answer his own question. As he expected, the younger wolf followed Vidocq’s steady gaze to where his attention was occupied. The young pup was obviously still frightened, yet she had not chosen to flee as soon as the sleuth spoke to her- a fact which intrigued him. It was not a common response when meeting a stranger, especially when said stranger was significantly larger. Only desperation and foolishness would drive someone to do such a thing; Vidocq felt confident in guessing the former.

Although both he and Mikazaru had addressed her, the pup displayed a certain reluctance in answering either of their questions. The spy’s brow furrowed at this. As he looked down upon the little one, he could almost see the deliberation in her features. Before he opened his mouth to speak again, however, she gingerly turned her head to show the left side of her face. The daylight fell upon a plethora of jagged scars and gashes down her muzzle. Vidocq inferred the rest. “I see,” he muttered simply. No surprise registered on his features, for he had seen similar wounds in his time. Briefly, he recalled one of his comrades from the Sûreté who had been unlucky enough to have an old tree fall on top of him during a nap. The trunk had rendered his hind legs no better than crooked cinnamon sticks, causing him to walk with a perpetual waddle for the rest of his days. The spy had had to ask him at least a dozen times before he finally heard the true story. He felt the same curiosity when the pup revealed her own scars, yet held his tongue.

“Excuse me. Oh, you poor thing!”

Another unfamiliar scent drew his attention from the young one, though before he could turn around to investigate, a willowy golden female trotted past him, bumping his shoulder on the way. He was not bothered by her coarseness as much as he was by her ridiculously overwrought reaction to the timid pup before him. A low growl rumbled in his chest. “Pardon me, Madame!” he spat as she trotted away like a returned queen. He shot an incredulous look at the other male beside him as if to say ‘what a tart!’ With a shake of his head, he regained his former calm and returned his attention to the little one. “Heaven help us if that strumpet finds the Guild,” he sighed. “Speaking of which, we ought to bring you back to our camp. No doubt they’ve settled in by now. They may already be planning a hunt.” He abruptly halted his musing. Those matters could be sorted once they had returned to the group. “That is, of course, only if you wish to come,” he added, choosing to let the child decide. Again, Vidocq’s tone was cool and unemotional as if he were trying to avoid spooking a rabbit. A peculiar need to guard the pup rose in him then. He felt as though he was obligated to protect her, especially from halfwits with loose tongues. A good meal courtesy of the Guild would be the least he could do.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Jane Wed Jul 17, 2013 7:21 pm

>>---------JANE---------<<
The pup watched in horror as yet another wolf came into view, this time female. It seemed as though the two males she had currently been dealing with hadn't even gotten a chance to respond to Jane's scars before the strikingly beautiful, golden wolf walked up. There was an air about this female that seemed so familiar and regal. It made the corners of Jane's mouth pull up a bit into the slightest smile. Perhaps it was refreshing for the pup to see any sort of female figure?

"Oh, you poor thing!"

And like that it was over. Jane's heart sunk a little at not what she said, but how she said it. Even though Jane had expected things like this, it still stung her a bit. The tone of the gorgeous females voice, the disapproval, only brought Jane back. It reminded her of the only adult Jane would remember forever. The one she woke up with in the ashes. They both had the same response at her scarred face: disapproval and disgust. It shook Jane to the bone, but she knew that those were things she would never escape for as long as these marks were visible upon her face.
Jane watched the wolf walk away as quickly as she had come, and just froze for a few moments. it was another voice that shook her back to reality.

‘’Can’t you speak?’’

She eyed the wolf who spoke. It was the male who she had spotted at her failed hunting attempt. As Jane shook her head in a sad no, the thoughts of the golden wolf and the mysterious one in the ashes shook away as well.
Jane was beginning to relax in the slightest bit. Though it wasn't because she was comfortable with these two strangers, but rather because she had spotted a clear route in which she could easily dash if she wanted. Though if these wolves chased her, she still wouldn't have a chance. But it was worth a shot...

“Pardon me, Madame! Heaven help us if that strumpet finds the Guild. Speaking of which, we ought to bring you back to our camp. No doubt they’ve settled in by now. They may already be planning a hunt.”

Jane was just considering dashing away when Vidocq spoke up again. She didn't understand the first part of his speech when he was addressing the female, so she decided it was just grown up stuff. But it was the second half, intended for her, that caught the little pups attention. The Guild? Where had Jane heard that before? And why was he offering to escort her back? A thought played at the edge of Jane's mind.
What will they think of me?

“That is, of course, only if you wish to come,”

Jane turned her eyes upward and just observed him for a moment. She eyed his relative blank expression for a moment, as if curiously examining a foreign language. Should she go and possibly find a home and a source of food, shelter, and protection? Or should she leave, and continue her difficult, but stable lifestyle all alone.

After a few more moments of debating, the pup shook her head yes.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Varien Thu Jul 18, 2013 10:02 am

The Native Peat 34978jq The Native Peat 33ayufk

The Guild had finally decided to stop and camp at some place. It smelled much nicer than the swamp, and it was less muddy. It have the Interior Alaska wolf some rest, and a moment of peace to process the whole journey.
He and Mikazaru had come into a nasty fight, so the male was glad when he could just sit here without the adult wolf with amber eyes. Even though the black male with the purple eyes wished it had went the other way. He really missed Mikazaru being next to him, even when their relationship hadn’t appeared to be much from the start.

But after this fight with the black wolf, Varien hadn’t tried to blend in anymore with any of the Guild; he was an outcast, a simple member who only was there to help in hunts, provide the Guild of food. He wasn’t liked, he wasn’t accepted, he just wasn’t needed.
The male Interior Alaska wolf felt like moving on and leaving this traveling pack behind. But the thought of Mikazaru being with this so called Guild kept him here.
He just couldn’t leave the black coated wolf he had met in his last pack. even now that Mikazaru was an adult, Varien kept seeing him as a yearling; he still saw those big amber eyes filled with fear and sadness every time he gave the younger male a glance. It was a terrible feeling, because he hated to feel bonded with someone. He wasn’t quite the bonding type.

As he sat there all alone, his fluffy tail curled around him, the sleek male watched and listened, observing the other Guild members.
as he listened, and watched, the wolf found out that Damian and Dakota, the two pups of the Guild, were now teething. Especially Damian was seeming to have a hard time with it, as he kept losing his teeth during rough game play. They were still small, yet they had grown a little. To the others they had probably grown even more, but Varien didn’t know how small they had been when they joined the Guild, because he had only just been part of it. well, what you could call being part of it…
‘’Back off.’’, was the first thing Damian yelled at his sister, followed by a loud snap of teeth losing and the muffled muttering of the pup. ‘’Stupid teeth.’’
His sister Dakota seemed to enjoy his pain, as she laughed at him and took the branch from him he had first tried to protect so much.
‘’Nice timing, Dami. Thanks for the stick. At least you’re not dying.’’

There wasn’t much with these little ones Varien could amuse himself with, so he snorted and stared around the area so his purple colored eyes could meet the faces of every Guild member around here. However, his eyes yet again got stuck on Mikazaru, like always. Mikazaru seemed to be staring back at him, his amber eyes narrowed as he glared at Varien.
The Interior Alaska wolf knew that the black adult didn’t hate him. he just looked at him like this to prevent Varien from starting a conversation with him. Mikazaru would never hate anyone would he?
The sleek wolf looked away from Mikazaru in shame, avoiding the narrowed eyes of the wolf. He could never win back his trust, could he? Maybe he could, but that would be a very hard task, which needed patient.

Varien noticed the large male Vidocq oddly wandering around. the Interior Alaska wolf found this male an outsider Of the Guild as well, just like himself. But he knew Vidocq was much more tolerated around here, as he had a clear function in this pack; making sure there were no dangerous intruders, or encounters with anything dangerous.
The sleek black male wolf hated this male. Well, he didn’t hate him, but he preferred not have the wolf around him. He knew it was the feeling of jealousy that chewed at him from the inside, that’s why he ‘hated’ this wolf. Vidocq was always so laid-back, always appeared so calm, and seemed to be a master at hearing and scenting intruders and prey. Why couldn’t Varien be like him?
‘’Sparrows are finicky things. Certainly not the easiest prey for an inexperienced hunter. You are, however, quite the sly one to have evaded Vidocq for so long. I’d known something was following us, but could not pinpoint what- or rather, who. And who, great sneak, are you?’’
Varien frowned at the hybrid wolf when he suddenly spoke to… some bushes. He wanted to go and check out what the hybrid had found, but decided in the end to stay where he was, because Mikazaru had already come into movement. The sleek Interior Alaska wolf groaned.

‘’Vidocq, what’s going on? Who are you talking to?’’
‘’Hey little one, why are you all alone? Where’s your family?’’
He didn’t have to see what it was, as he perked his pointy ears to listen to the conversation. The way Mikazaru spoke to the thing they had found, meant it was a kid they were talking to. Probably a pup that had lost his or hers family, unfortunately.
As the two kept on speaking to the pup, the Interior Alaska wolf tried to see a glimpse of the little newcomer after all as he was pretty curious. But those fat bodies of Vidocq and Mikazaru were standing in the way, blocking the male’s view. He snorted and shook away the thought.
‘’Ah, that doesn’t matter. I will see the beautiful face myself once the little one comes out.’’, the sleek male thought for a moment, as he continued to stay where he was with his tail wrapped around his body still.
He kept on listening to the wolves’ conversations; he was bored and what else was there to do?

‘’Can’t you speak?’’
‘’Excuse me. Oh, you poor thing!’’
Varien looked up to see a golden colored female pass Mikazaru and Vidocq like she was the queen of the area. She looked like a dog, but she smelled like a wolf. Her scent was even quite familiar to the sleek Interior Alaska wolf. She smelled almost the same as Marina, so the sleek male with the purple eyes guessed they were family. Sisters, perhaps.
And just like Varien had thought, this female moved on to Marina to talk to her. The two immediately recognized each other, and started yelling at each other in a friendly way, which Varien found quite disturbing for his poor black colored ears.
But as he listened to the different conversations of both Vidocq and Mikazaru and Marina and this golden colored ‘queen’ he hard time catching each word of their sentences. The two conversation went right through each other. A statement on his right side, some girl’s talk in front of him. It was all quite hard to follow, but Varien did his best to make anything out of it.

‘’Heaven help us if that strumpet finds the Guild. Speaking of which, we ought to bring you back to our camp. No doubt they’ve settled in by now. They may already be planning a hunt.’’
‘’FRECKLES!’’
‘’CAROLINE! Oh my gosh it's you it's you it's YOU HOW DID YOU FIND ME AUUGGHHH!’’
‘’I missed you SO MUCH. You're so beautiful.’’
‘’And you don't look a day older, honey! We have so much to catch up on!’’
‘’That is, of course, only if you wish to come.’’
Varien snorted once again and tried to focus his ears on only one conversation at a time, but that was too hard for him. he suddenly felt terribly exhausted. He laid down, his tail still curled around him. He pulled back his ears to put down the wolves’ volume and tried to take a rest, as that was why he was still laying here.
And why would he try and interact with the other Guild members anyway? No one wanted him around.
He was an outcast.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Chance Thu Jul 18, 2013 11:10 am

Despite all the time they had spent together since the bog Chance still fell his heart beat quickly each time he stole a glance at Marina. He hadn't been so bold as to go touching her as he had that time in the bog but there had been times he wished he'd had. The male didn't realise it but it was plainly obvious to just about anyone that he was head over heels for the wolf dog, sneaking glances at her almost constantly.

With all the time that had passed his feelings for her had grown. Even the pups squabbling and attacks, whether they were verbal or physical couldn't bother him, often continuing along his way with hardly a glance in their directions. He was often far too off in his daydreams to even notice is his non-responsiveness even annoyed them. It was amazing that he actually knew they were teething.

This day, Chance had been daydreaming again, just thinking about Marina as he usually was, completely lovestruck by the female. The sudden shout snapped him out of it causing the male to start and loose balance, unceremoniously falling on his face. Lifting his chin from the dirt, his tongue sore from the awkward bite he had given it, he looked around to see where the shout had come from. There was another female, a stranger to him but apparently not to Marina. He tilted his head watching them as they went off to talk, not being introduced to this new wolf, giving a soft whine to himself.

Sitting up he curled his tail around himself, not sure if he should go over and greet the stranger. He didn't, however, concluding that it would be rude to interrupt. Dropping his gaze to the ground, Chance stayed where he was. His heart truly stolen by one certain female....

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

The Native Peat 34rxb7r
The Native Peat E8q3de

A light Brown figure walked through the forest, hiding in the shadows the trees made. His chestnut brown eyes stayed on the ground as he pulled himself up onto a fallen tree trunk. He jumped off of it straight after climbing it and continued his way. The wolf was a male Hudson Bay wolf, with a light brown coat. His fur was long and thick, it made the adult look quite… fattish, or muscled. But he wasn’t; it was his coat that made him look this way.
His chestnut brown eyes held a dull, expressionless look in them. His pupils moved over the sandy ground coldly, to only look up once in a while to see if he was still walking the right way.
The male was called Jeamesero, and he didn’t care where he went, when he went or how he went. He had traveled from pack to pack, but had never found his place, as no one ever seemed to respect him, and accept him. He was still looking for that kind of pack.

The scent of wolves filled his nostrils all of sudden, triggering the light brown male to stop in his tracks and lift his black wet nose into the air. He smelled around f or six wolves. But he could be wrong, it could as well be much more.
He even thought he heard voices as he stood there, completely quiet. He perked his pointed ears to catch any conversations, but all he could hear were muffled voices. So they were close, yet not so close he could actually see them.
There were no scents around that could mark a territory, so Jeamesero guessed this pack didn’t have an own territory, or maybe he had already passed their borders long ago. Well, no going back anymore, he had to see where they were.
The wolf’s eyes widened at the scents and sounds of this found pack, and his black pupils became smaller. A grin appeared on the male’s face which made his expression look quite nasty, and deadly scary.

‘’Well well well…’’, he mumbled to himself, before continuing to speak in a strange, singing like tone. ‘’A pack of wolves close byyy… Shall I feast tonighttt…?’’
His grin got even wider and the wolf, called Jeamesero, ran off towards the sounds of voices, following the directions his ears and nose gave him very carefully, yet very quickly. There was no time to waste, there was no time to waste a precious meal. If these wolves did have any food. ‘’And if they don’t have anything to eat I might as well eat their offspring…’’, the male thought. Even his thoughts were now in a singing-like tone. He snickered at them.
It was a joke; of course this wolf would never eat his own kind. Though, the way he looked right now would make the other wolves think a lot different about it. They might even take him serious.

The Hudson Bay wolf had reached the sounds of the voices, they were much more clear now. he laid down on his belly as his chestnut brown eyes fell on three wolves; two adult males and one black pup, a female to be exact. One of the males smelled a little bit like dog, so Jeamesero assumed he was a hybrid.
The other male, a black wolf with amber eyes, seemed much more friendly than the laid-back dude which seemed to be in a conversation with the pup.
‘’Speaking of which, we ought to bring you back to our camp. No doubt they’ve settled in by now. They may already be planning a hunt. That is, of course, only if you wish to come.’’

The look in the wolf’s amber eyes who stood there silently made Jeamesero feel safe around this pack; this male seemed like a trustworthy fellow, that would sure stand up for him and accept him into this strange looking pack.
The sight of the black wolf made Jeamesero’s pupils become bigger again. The grin on his face made way for a bright, big smile. His chestnut brown eyes were still widened, but in a puppy-like way. The wolf wagged his tail slightly as he looked at the three wolves in front of him. From a creepy looking adult wolf, he had now changed into a happy wolf, which almost could be compared to a yearling by his puppy-like expression.
It was playtime!
He slowly crawled forward, trying not to make a sound, as his fluffy tail kept on sweeping up the light brown sand behind his body. He slowly got on his feet and moved forward, his head low and ears pulled back. he waited a few seconds before he all of a sudden dashed forward and bounced right into the black wolf with the amber eyes, knocking him over with his weight.

As Jeamesero lay on top of the black coated gray wolf, his eyes suddenly became dull again, and he looked down at his new ‘pillow’ with great confusion, rising his eyebrow. How had he get here? Who was this wolf? Where was he?
Ah well, what did it even matter. He had found a pack!
Looking dwon at the male he lay on top of, he let out a snort, followed by a manly sounding snicker. With his dull, cold expression he stared down at him, his lips pulling into a slight grin, before the corners of his mouth dropped again a second later.
‘’Hello there good fellow, mind if I lay on top of you?’’
He lay still, his head not moving, his paws not moving. Even his tail wasn’t wagging anymore. He lay there completely silent, looking down at the crushed male as he waited for an answer from him.

Mikazaru was so much in thought about Varien and these two newcomers that he had not yet smelled a wolf’s scent coming from behind the pup with the scars on her face, who was unable to speak. And he hadn’t even heard the bushes rustle, or seen them move.
It only came to hind mind that someone was watching them when all off a sudden a brown figure ran past Vidocq and the little pup, bumping right into him.
‘’YAAAAAAACK!’’
The creature was really heavy and knocked him over, laying on top of him, wagging.
It was a light brown wolf with chestnut brown eyes and he was so heavy that it felt to Mikazaru like his bones were being crushed.

Just as the wolf had been wagging his tail, he stopped wagging and the happy, puppy-like expression in his eyes turned cold. He now seemed much older than he had appeared in the first place. He seemed confused when his expression changed, and he looked down at Mikazaru who was still being crushed under his weight. He let out a snicker before speaking to the poor black wolf.
‘’Hello there good fellow, mind if I lay on top of you?’’
Mikazaru wasn’t sure how to respond to this and he felt quite scared around this wolf. He wasn’t sure, but this wolf had a certain energy surrounding him. His energy just didn’t feel right, even while he acted so nicely to the black wolf.
The poor black male was too scared to move, afraid of being crushed even more but mostly because he wasn’t sure how the male would react. Because Mikazaru was sure this wolf was going to be hard to read. He showed now expression at all.

‘’Well… sure… If you wouldn’t crush me…’’, the poor male mumbled, as he felt his breath being pushed out of his lungs with every word he spoke. He gave Vidocq and the black pup a long glance, begging them for help. ‘’Please stop crushing me… Pleaseee…’’
Mikazaru was gasping for air. How much he wanted to talk to this male to get the fellow off of him, every spoken word hurt his throat and lungs. He felt his head being pushed in the sand a little, and that feeling became worse and worse while this male wolf kept laying on top of him.
He knew he had to stand up for himself, tell this stranger not to come march in so suddenly and use him as a pillow. He was no one’s pillow, he was no one’s property, but this male seemed to treat him like Mikazaru belonged to him. he really had to stand out for himself. But the black male was scared, oh so scared. Too frightened to open his mouth and yell at this male, pushing him off.

, “Nice timing, Dami.” “Thanks for the stick.”  “At least you're not dying.”

Damian let out a tempered growl at his sister, but didn't advance on her. The pain that rotted his mouth hurt and he felt that any movement would make that pain double. He was not happy that his sister had stolen his stick. His mouth was killing him and the stick helped with the pain. Stupid sister. Stupid pain. Everything was just going down hill for the young wolf-dog. His mind was clogged tight with pain and frustration. It didn't take much to make the pup tick, but he was more likely to snap due to the agony in his mouth.

The little man's attention soon bloomed over to one of the oldest members of this pack, Agro. If he couldn't have his stick, then he'd use Agro as a punching bag. The pup felt he needed some training anyway, and he knew that the old fart was once a legendary fighter. The old brute would have to teach the pup had to fight. He knew how to do fight dogs, but wolves were another question. The wild was different from a fighting box. So many different scents, so many broken rules, the wild was savage.

Slowly, the pup rose himself up from his pitiful position and started to stalk towards the old male. His eyes targeted the male and locked onto him before he pounced on the old male, biting hold of the scruff on the back of the neck. The pup shook the neck folds and let out a few growls. Now, the pup wasn't being aggressive, but letting off steam by challenging his older pack mate. “Bring it on, old man.” He muffled with the wolf's fur and skin between his teething jaws.

The Native Peat 34rxb7r
The Native Peat E8q3de

As the adult Hudson Bay wolf lay there on top of the black male, the wolf being crushed by him spoke. Jeamesero looked down at the male who was gasping for air as he listened to his words carefully.
‘’Well… sure… If you wouldn’t crush me… Please stop crushing me… Pleaseee…’’
Jeamesero let out a yawn before nodding and getting back to his feet. He stood with his paws o the black wolf’s back, crushing his spine. He then slowly walked off of him, shaking out his fur before turning back to the black wolf.
He weak smile came across his face, but his chestnut brown eyes said nothing at all.
‘’Thank you for being my temporary pillow, friend. I will now go and meet the others.’’, he spoke. Once he was done talking to the wolf, the smile disappeared again, and once again his expression had become completely cold. He thought for a moment if he should add anything else to his strange introduction. He looked at the black wolf and at the big male that smelled like a hybrid, then at the young black pup with the scars on her face. ‘’I’m Jeamesero. And your names are?’’

‘’Bring it on, old man.’’
Jeamesero turned his head to see a pup, probably around four months old, who was showing his teeth at an older wolf, who didn’t even have a tail, and who was missing an eye. The big male the pup tried to ‘attack’ looked very creepy and dangerous, but for some reason Jeamesero didn’t feel any bad energy around this male. so he guessed he was all fine.
The pup smelled like a hybrid and Jeamesero felt mixed energies around him, just like himself. They could probably become friends.

The expressionless look in the Hudson Bay wolf’s eyes disappeared, turning into that same happy expression again. His eyes became more ‘speaking’ and his pink colored tongue rolled out of his mouth. It hang there as the adult wolf smiled happily, wagging his tail like crazy. This male had never heard of himself showing no emotions, he had always been happy and playful. Like a puppy.
The light brown coated male ran over to the pup and the older wolf, and stopped right in front of them. He play-bowed at the four months old hybrid pup while his tail swept back and forth behind his quite big-looking body.
‘’Wanna play?’’, he asked, a smile as big as half his face. There was an odd sparkle in his chestnut brown eyes as he spoke to the younger wolf.

The light brown male waited eagerly for the pup’s response as he kept on play-bowing at the pup, inviting him into games. It was like the wolf was running on solar energy; he kept on wagging and smiling, having too much energy stuck in his big body to ever get tired.
He didn’t even care what others would think of his behavior, as long as he just could have fun and enjoy life to the fullest.

A two toned distinct wolf had waltz'd onto the land with no real care, he was a wanderer, and a loner mostly by nature and partly because he wasn't too good with others, and often found himself digging his teeth into them. He gave a deep sigh and flicked his tail as he continued to walk along he land that he had found himself in, he had found traces and scents of wolves in the area, and was curious to meet them.

He padded through the grass, and through a herd of deer, he hadn't been hunting nor had bothered to hide himself so the deer didn't bother with his presence. Logan was this wolf's name and he was coloured creamy white and black. The black covered his chest, down to the last rib and up to the base of his neck, a white stripe down the centre of his belly, and accompanied by black each side, which then further drew down his legs to his pasterns where again it changed back to the cream.

He made his way to where the scents had gotten stronger, and to where he spotted the pack, he watched them through a thick of bushes and counted their numbers, before he made himself known stepping through them sitting at the edge of their group where he listened and watched them.

The male had been staring after the female he was crushing on when a shout broke his attention. Getting up he trotted a short distance to better see what it was. Seeing a male sitting on top of Mikazaru (crushing the poor male), a nervous smile appearing on Chance’s face, tail between his legs wondering if that was how the strange greeted everyone. Vidoq was still standing though as the male got of Mika, running off to play with Damian. The four month old was already attacking Agro.

Sitting back to observe the group’s goings on, his eyes drifted back to Marina and her companions more times than one could count. It was at a point where his gaze was turning back when he spotted another wolf. It was a white male with a black ‘coat’ over his back. He appeared to be watching the guild. Was he thinking of attacking? Chance hoped not, already gaining a fearful shake to his frame. His gazed darted back to Marina worried that if such were to happen that she might get harmed. No, he couldn’t let that happen.

So getting up in a moment of boldness he trotted over to the male. “Hey you!” Chance shrunk back after his shout. He suddenly felt very foolish. He should have left it to someone bolder and more capable, like Damian. He didn’t even know what to do, very much missing his brothers. The wolf in front of him looked like he could kill him easily.

Logan had been sitting patiently waiting on someone to notice him, and whilst he had he cast his eyes around at the events of the pack. One was sitting on top of another, which Logan found rather strange, he gave a huff, and moved to the next figure, another was just standing about, and a three legged pup was attacking an older wolf, who seemed to be the biggest and gruffest of them all, 'probably the alpha' Logan thought in his stream of watching the wolves, which was cut short by one running up at him.

Logan stood taking an aggressive manner, his ears up and perked, his head up high, his tail was raised and rigid, the fur upon his back stood in hackles, as he stood over his forelegs ready to lunge or charge at the male if need be. His lips wrinkled back in a snarl, baring his front teeth, and large canines. Crystal silver eyes with hints of blue staring down at his opponent. A deep rumbling growl held in his throat, "What!?" he barked back at the wolf, who now had sunken back into itself, a more submissive posture, but Logan remained on the aggressive, pressing the wolf further into submission, or as he intended to.

He stepped forth, as to make the wolf back away more, as he growled. "Whatcha gon' do pretty boy? Bat your eyelids whelp?" he snapped his jaws threateningly at the male. He was not going to give up until the wolf had begged him for mercy that Logan would give. His tail flicked over his back, side to side slowly, showing not only his dominance but the aggression he possessed.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

Post by Brave Mon Jul 22, 2013 12:41 pm

The Fighting Spirit Never Dies

Brave had been sleeping peacefully out in the open, away from all others. The travelling, along with dealing the pups their payback because of their discomfort, had worn her out, and she had spent most of her time sleeping and eating. The predominantly eggshell white femme stretched her limbs and yawned, taking care in making sure she had stretched every mucle in her body before beginning to rise and walk. Sniffing around, Brave immediately determined the location of all of the pack members, including many new and unidentifiable scents. New wolves? She cocked her head and perked her ears to get a better picture in her mind.

Nearby the pups were fighting over a stick and Damian had lost a tooth in the act, and in his furry attacked the lead male.Somewhere to her left, the tall grizzled male and one of her friends were speaking to a creature who could not speak 'wha...?' this confused her deeply, and she fell deeper into confusion when a disgustingly attractive female ran past her withought regard. The hybrid oozed confidence and vanity. The yellow eyed fae honed her senses in on her. She seemed to be heading in Marina's direction. The stranger met the respected member with many screams and shouts, and Marina answered in the same fashion... 'Odd...' Suddenly a deep rumbling growl interrupted her concentration.

A very peeved female whirled towards the sound, angry at being cut off of her listening. She growled in frustration and pure rage. 'And I had been doing so well!'  Brave soon found the source while it was speaking and planned her confrontaion. "Whatcha gon' do, pretty boy? Bat your eyelids, whelp?" She watched with very tried patience as a multicolored wolf, probably male, threatened Marina's best friend (or lover, she had not a clue), Chance. Using her obviouly superior strength and brains Brave lunged at the male with bare teeth. Tackling him, she would not think twice about biting for his exposed neck, only then, she did. She gripped his muzzle in hers and trashed it side to side, one of the most dominant and overpowering act she could muster. The female released him, but still beared down on him with all of her weight. "What do you think you're you doing, you worthless scumbag!?" she snarled, showing her teeth, not caring at the point that she was losing her cool as the fur on her back rose and she puffed herself up to twice her size. She knew very well how to fight maniacs like this one, and fight she will.

The Native Peat 2chri12 The Native Peat 2i903dd

The light brown male jumped off of Mikazaru’s back, causing the black wolf to heavily take deep breaths, before loudly puffing them out.
As Mikazaru got back to his feet as well, he gave the light brown wolf a confused look. The wolf in front of him showed no expression at all. The way he spoke, however, was gentle and kind and held a little bit of a sarcastic, joking-like tone.
‘’Thank you for being my temporary pillow, friend. I will now go and meet the others.’’, he said before changing the subject. ‘’I’m Jeamesero. And your names are?’’
‘’M-Mikazaru…’’

‘’Bring it on, old man.’’
The sudden yelling from Damian made the wolf called Jeamesero turn his head to look at him and Mikazaru wasn’t sure how this male so suddenly could change expressions. He was now all puppy-like, like he had never been emotionless at all. He even ran over to Damian, who was challenging Agro, to play with him.
Mikazaru’s eyes widened and he just stood there with a confused look on his face, shaking. If this was an anime, he would have sweat-dropped by now.
The male shook his head before turning back to Vidocq and the new pup, but a sudden yell from Chance caught his attention.
‘’Hey you!’’

Mikazaru looked at the male to see him bounce off at a new wolf, another male, who seemed quite dominant and… aggressive. Mikazaru hoped this wolf was reasonable, but in the back of his mind he really doubted this male would be nice toward the Guild members.
What was with all these new wolves appearing and joining anyway? In only a few minutes already three new wolves had appeared; two females and one male.
‘’it’s insane!’’, the black male thought as he watched Chance shivering while standing in front of this newcomer. He suddenly seemed quite scared for acting this way towards this other male, who really seemed to be angry.

‘’What!? Whatcha gon' do pretty boy? Bat your eyelids whelp?’’, the newcomer snapped furiously and Mikazaru felt quite bad for poor Chance. The male was only greeting him, even though his greeting had sounded quite alarmed.
But neither did Chance deserve to be treated like this. How much Mikazaru wanted to help him, though, he was very scared of this new wolf as well. In the back of his mind he hoped someone else would take care of this aggressive stranger.
Just when Mikazaru thought that, Brave who had just awoken stood up and came to help the poor male, pinning down the aggressive stranger. Mikazaru watched with his ears pulled back as the female knocked over the male. he had never seen such a strong female, she looked even much stronger than the male with this move of hers.
‘’What do you think you're you doing, you worthless scumbag!?’’, she yelled at the pinned down male.

Mikazaru wanted to cheer at her from the side, but kept his mouth shut as he was still quite scared. He quietly stalked over to them, his ears still pulled back and his tail between his hind legs. He stopped walking not too far away from the two, standing next to Chance, and watched the female hold down the furious male. Brave now seemed furious as well, Mikazaru could tell by the way she spoke to him.
‘’Woohooo, you go girl!’’, Mikazaru thought. He almost let out a snicker at the words in his mind, but could just in time bite on his lip so the snicker wouldn’t appear as a grin across his face. He watched in silence as this ‘fight’ continued.

The Native Peat Empty Re: The Native Peat

The Native Peat Addy_post_box_header_by_xxsunnybunnyxx-d6er78d
Over the past weeks, Aderyn’s fur had started to shed in large quantities leaving a trail of brown fur behind her. Before it had been the bogs, now this, her stupid, stupid fur. Though it wasn’t as bad as the bogs, as she wasn’t at risk of death by drowning, but death by swallowing fur by accident. Most of her summer coat was now showing through but she still had clumps of thick fur on her making her coat look uneven, especially in the parts where the fur was still hanging on a thread, but she usually shook herself to get rid of that fur.

She knew about Chanette, Vidocq and Varien but she hadn’t directly spoken to them apart from a quick hello in the morning to everyone, she hoped that she would get to know them a bit better despite Vidocq and Varien seeming a bit unapproachable. Aderyn also hadn’t spoken properly to Damian without sounding spiteful since their argument in the swamp, Aderyn had once thought she could get along with him in the end of it all, but oh no. When he had started saying all those things any chance of redeeming himself flew out the window in her eyes, his sister though she was still her banter buddy.

Aderyn also found that since they had been in the swamps Marina’s teasing about Claudius had gotten worse, it had went from the eyebrow wiggles to actually teasing her with words. At first Aderyn had just rolled her eyes and shrugged it off, then after a few days she got annoyed with it, then for some odd reason in recent days she had become embarrassed and flustered by Marina’s teasing. Truth be told she had never thought of herself as being the type to fall in love, while she always thought it would be nice, she wasn’t exactly the right type for anyone, she was basically an over grown pup. She hadn’t imagined herself being together with anyone yet alone Claudius surely she was way to childish for him. But when Marina mentioned or teased about the fact that Claudius may  have a crush on her, her heart tugged at her in a weird way and has become slightly fidgety around him.

Aderyns eyes shot open and her head immediately jerked up at the sound of her name and she watched as Marina approached her with an unknown wolf who looked similar to Marina. Aderyn had been sleeping before that moment, yet to wake up from her night sleep. For once, she had a dreamless sleep, which was weird for  her as she usually always had a dream of some sort no matter how brief it seemed. Aderyn scrambled to her light paws and stood up to her full height and looked down at the two of them.

“Addy, guess who I found! This is my dearest sister Caroline. Caroline, this is Aderyn.”

Aderyn blinked it surprise at this, she didn’t know Marina had a sister. She swore Marina never mentioned that she had any siblings. To be fair, Aderyn didn’t think she had spoken about her siblings either, unless it had been when she was half asleep on their journey through the bogs. She barely remembered half of what she spoke about to her best friend on that journey or anyone really, apart from the argument with Damian.

“Well aren’t you cute? It’s lovely to meet you. Marina’s told me all about you. I bet we’ll be good friends, too.”

Cute? Aderyn found that to be kind of patronising, she may behave like a pup but she wasn’t one. Aderyn watched in an uncomfortably manner as Caroline looked her up and down, obviously judging her. It was a bit too soon, but from this action Aderyn seemed to get an uncomfortable vibe about Caroline, she didn’t show that part though. Then that smile. It seemed off and this coupled with the earlier form of looking her up and down, that uncomfortable vibe turned to a bad vibe and she swore she could detect a hint of sarcasm. Regardless she smiled wildly at Caroline, “Nice to meet ‘ew Caroline! Has she?” a look of surprise then crossed Aderyn’s face. Everything?! “I’m sure we will be,” she smiled. Then realisation spread across her mind. Oh gosh her accent! Oh man, oh man, if Caroline had been judging her by her appearance…Her accent would certainly seal the deal for her…Aderyn had come across various wolves who had heard of ‘Welshies’ as they put her and often judged her on it.

Regardless, Aderyn still kept that smile on and wagged her tail hoping Caroline would think twice. Or would that just make Caroline she was even weirder than the stereotypes? Oh gosh! What if Caroline started to say bad things about her to her pack mates? Especially Marina and Claudius…or Damian. That’d be awful! So awful…No, no, she was getting ahead of herself. Just smile, be polite and be nice. Oh gosh!

‘Someone get me out of 'ere before I embarrass myself even more!’ she thought to herself.

Wolves Addressed: Caroline.
Wolves Mentioned: Marina, Damian, Dakota, Claudius, Varien, Vidocq, Chanette, Caroline.

“Nice to meet ‘ew Caroline! Has she?” Marina's friend looked slightly anxious. “I’m sure we will be.”

Caroline's eyebrow arched; she could hardly understand the girl through he thick Welsh accent. Couldn't people train themselves to talk normally? Caroline herself had spent many hours whittling her Irish voice down to a charming lilt. But obviously some people don't care how they sound, she shrugged to herself. Or how they look. Aderyn's coat was coming out in clumps, as if she had decided to shed every hair at once.

She gave a quick glance to Freckles, who looked as innocent and happy as Carol remembered. The insult that had made its way to the tip of Caroline's tongue died as her heart swelled with fondness for her dear little sister. Marina was a breath of fresh air, even if she hadn't chosen the most classy group of friends.

"It's lovely to meet you too," was all Caroline replied.

Marina danced from foot to foot, hoping her sister and her best friend would hit it off. Addy seemed flustered for some reason - probably surprised that a sister of Marina's could be so graceful and beautiful. Caroline always knocked other wolves speechless; as far as Marina remembered, she was as kind as she was everything else, so hopefully she would get along with Addy.

Her attention, however, was diverted to a bark from Chance before anything else was said. She turned around to see the lad loping up to a strange wolf in an unusual display of bravado. His confidence drained suddenly, and he shrunk back when the wolf snarled in response.

"Whatcha gon' do pretty boy? Bat your eyelids whelp?" The wolf, apparently another newcomer, drew himself up to his full height, snapping his jaws shut inches from Chance's face. Marina let out a little squeak of indignation. How dare he? She didn't know who on earth he was, but it didn't matter; she was going to rip him to shreds.

"Excuse me!" She barked, approaching them with her tail lashing cat-like in anger.

Brave was already there, puffed up to twice her normal size; by the time Marina arrived she was sitting on the wolf like some victorious ninja. "What do you think you're  doing, you worthless scumbag!?"

Marina snorted in agreement, amused at Brave's temper, and snapped at the strange male; "I don't know where you come from, sir, but here we don't just rush up on a group of wolves and attack them, okay? If you have a problem with us, you must speak to Agro." She paused to flick her tail in the meister's direction. "Now you leave him alone! And thank you, Brave, for disarming him. That was impressive." She hoped the wolf wouldn't continue to be rude, because then a fight would break out and things would just get awkward.

Caroline was left alone with Aderyn after Freckles ran off. She looked after her sister awkwardly, unsure if she should continue talking to the female or if she should go introduce herself to someone else. She decided to stay, since Addy and Marina were 'like sisters' and all; it would be best to establish her position from the start.

"So, Marina seems quite fond of you." The hybrid said casually, wanted to get a feel for whether or not Aderyn would be competition for Marina's attention. "She said she felt like you were her sister, you know." She paused to admire her paws with a small smile. "I guess that makes us metaphorical sisters already, huh?"  She didn't like Aderyn already. What, is Freckles trying to replace me with her? I'm not about to let that happen.

Marina could be heard yelling in the background; Caroline craned her head to see her sister scolding a white male - she had scented him around the area before, so she wasn't surprised to see him - while a black female hissed insults and a handsome little lad cowered behind them.

"What's going on over there?" She wondered, momentarily forgetting her dislike of Aderyn.

Logan had been waiting a reply from the foolish smaller wolf, but before it got a chance, something tackled him from the side, he gave an 'oof' as he hit into the ground, shaking his head he looked up at the sudden attacker.

"What do you think you're you doing, you worthless scumbag!?"

He growled as she grabbed his muzzle and shook his head around, he scrambled underneath her weight. "gee she's rather big for a female' he thought as he continued to worm underneath her, she then let go of his muzzle, he wouldn't dare give her the satisfaction of a yelp or squeal. He grumbled as she still had her weight baring down on him, feeling the paws digging in at his sides. He relaxed under her weight for a moment, feeling to her as if he had become submissive, but he hadn't.

"I don't know where you come from, sir, but here we don't just rush up on a group of wolves and attack them, okay? If you have a problem with us, you must speak to Agro."
"Now you leave him alone! And thank you, Brave, for disarming him. That was impressive."

He looked up at the wolf that had come over, another female, Logan rolled his eyes, still under the weight of his attacker. He scoffed; "I did not rush in and attack others. Your friend over there rushed at me. I had merely stepped through the bushes and sat, and he came rushing at me. Its his own stupid fault, I only reacted to his stimulus. And now I'm the one attacking everyone? Pah. You need to get your facts straight before you start accusing others of thing they haven't done." he snapped back at the accusing female. He seemed to have caught a bit of attention with his little line at the foolish smaller wolf.

Then suddenly with no notice, Logan gave one almighty thrash underneath the weight of the female that was holding him down, in which he threw the female off. "Get off me you stupid hillbilly Wench!" he snapped as he now stood back up, he shook his coat. He resumed his aggressive stance, and snarled at those that had come to circle around him. For the next attack he would be ready...

[ a d d r e s s e d ] Marina, Brave, Chance, Others that had come to him
[ m e n t i o n e d ] Uhh the pack.
[ n o t e s ] He's done it now!!! Brave next time dont take him down like that hes not a small guy. So that i can have at least a chance to reply. Im not modding but i think it was a bit of power-play rp. No offence.
